March 30 - April 13 and 14
Mixed team Highland Games, 3 A-Athletes and 2 Masters, in Oranienburg (Germany).
While we hope that the Netherlands do well, like all the rest of the Dutch fans, in this mixed highland games event. Germany will be hard to beat because Germany has
probably the best team in the tournament. The two teams include two masters and three A-Athletes.
The Dutch team is represented by: Pieter Karst Bouma, Eddy Cardol, Raynor Wortel and masters Wybe Zeilstra and Wulbert Stam.
Representing Germany are: David Frey, Daniël Dorow, Marcus Vortriede and masters Andy Deuschle and Hans-Dieter Dorow
The German masters athletes have performed very well last year, in fact the results have been so good that Andreas Deuschle won every Game he entered last year. So at least one Dutch master should beat one German master to have a change to win this contest overall. Dutch A-athlete Pieter Karst Bouma increased his strength substantially this year. Combined with his outstanding throwing skills he should be able to win the A-class.
