April 15 - Last weekend in Oranienburg (Germany) the Frienship Game was held. The Dutch athlete Pieter Karst Bouma, as expected, did win the A-Class. By the masters Andreas Deuschle emerged as the winner and completed this competition with an outstanding record in the 22 lbs Open Stone Put.
Dutch topmasters Wybe Zeilstra and Wulbert Stam however performed well and were able to manage some personal records. By a small margin Germany
was able to win the team contest.

30 April - The day of the inauguration of King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima. Around one million people had congregated in Amsterdam to welcome the new King. At the same time Highland Games were held in Wapenveld (Holland) called the "Battle of the Low Countries". Four teams contested each other: Friesland, Holland, Belgium and Germany.
Friesland emerged as winner of the teams. In the best shape of his life, an awesome Pieter Karst Bouma wins again the individual overall title. Professional and master Hans Lolkema took second.

Team Holland - 3d
Team Germany - 4th
