August 2016 - Update Masters World Championships (USA)
Dutch athlete Wybe Zeilstra produced his best form of the season to finish 6th in the Masters World Championships in Buffalo, New York!
A light WFD of 54-11" scored him a fourth place in this event and gave him some substantial points for his overall standings. Wybe placed 8th in 2014 in Inverness (Masters World Championships) so some improvement. Well done Wybe!
American athletes are traditional strong with the hammer and gained some valuable points over Wybe with this event.
This age class Men 45 - 49 age class was won by Michael Dickens.
He has now four world titles (2011, 2014,2015 and 2016).
Non-american athletes in this class included Craig Reid (5th place) from Australia, Kengo Kubota (7th place) Japan, German Uli Müller (8th place and Geir Standal from Norway (12th place).
Jason Johnston won the age class 40 - 44.
Canadian Berle Conrad excels in the age class 50 -54 with an exceptional WOB 19-3", I think this is a new world record is this class.
This is his second World title.
American Rick Kramer took first place in the age class 55 - 59. Jim Dougherty muscles in 2nd place and Canadian Jon Jans follows with 3rd place.
Former three times World Champion Al Stagner came in at 4th place.
Frank Henry wins again the title in the age class 60 - 64.
Harvey Barkauskas and Ian Percy are the winners in the 65 - 69 and 70 - 74 age classes.
Mark Howe wins 40 - 49 < 200 lbs class and Jim Spalding 50 - 59 < 200 lbs class.
Congrats to all winners!
