Hans Lolkema
Hans Lolkema, international pro athlete
Hans Lolkema is a professional Highland Games athlete, he is 1.90 and his weight is about 125 kilograms. Born in 1971 he's eligible for masters competition, but his level of compettiton is so high that he's a threat for everyone in professional competiton. Always placed in the top rankings for the big games (European en World Championships) in Europe, Canada and the USA. Hans is also an outstanding powerathlete. He competed up the level of 'Strongest man of Holland' against Jarno Harms. His WFD is exceptional and he holds the master record. The regular record for the WFD (both heavy and light) was broken by Pieter Karst Bouma (Dutch Pro athlete and World Champion 2014).
Also his stone putting and cabertoss are world-class. If he had chosen to be a shotputter in the past, he could have been olympic material.
Nevertheless Lolkema is not competing at the masters level. He's too good and and he competes with the likes of Larry Brock and Aaron Neighbour. Being a pro Hans can deliver on the right moment, but always enjoys himself with the sport of Highland Games.
He attends every year the big tournaments (Califorinia, Scotland, Canada, Ireland) and places always in the top 5. He uses the Dutch amateur competition as training. Hans Lolkema has a big masonry company in Friesland, where he also lives with his familiy.
